Researchers say cancer is still the leading cause of death to millions of people around the globe.

There are too many types of cancer and this dreadful disease is caused by different risk factors which includes:

  • genetics
  • environmental
  • carcinogen
  • food intake
  • radiation
  • age
  • smoking

There are ways to help reduce the risk of developing cancer.

  • Get enough sleep, at least 8 hours of deep sleep and in total darkness. We need to sleep as required by our immune system. When we sleep, our immune system will start to do the job of creating cells for our body. When we are lack of sleep, our immune system cannot function properly.
  • Eat fruits and vegetables that are rich in antioxidants. Citrus fruits, Blueberries, Grapes and Strawberries are some of the fruits that are known to be rich in antioxidants.
  • Include Broccoli in your daily diet. Studies revealed that it is super rich with anti-cancer properties. It is best when Broccoli is steamed rather than cooked in the microwave. Microwaving your vegetables may destroy their protective capabilities. Spinach is a rich source of glutathione. Get a bunch of Lemon Grass, soak it in a boiling water and then drink it as water substitute or make it a Lemon Grass Tea. Watercress is another type of vegetable that researchers say can help prevent cancer. This may not be familiar to you but go ahead and check it out in your local grocery store. I'm sure you'll find it. I never heard about this vegie before. I went to wholefoods store in los angeles and there I found it in the shelf. Beans and Soya Beans also contain anti cancer properties.
  • Use Garlic and Tomatoe in most of your cooking ingredients. Garlic contains Sulfur compounds that may stimulate the immune system's natural defenses against cancer and may reduce tumor growth while Tomatoes contain lycopene that may protect against Colon Cancer, Prostate Cancer, and Cancer of the Bladder.
  • Drink Green Tea or Black Tea daily. Studies of humans and animals had been conducted and the result showed that the antioxidants in Black and Green Teas are abundant.
  • Take Vitamin C everyday because it contains a huge amount of antioxidant. Consider taking other vitamins and supplements too to help boost your immune system.
  • Engage in physical activities everyday. Spend at least 15 minutes walking and stretching your muscles.
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Upon waking up in the morning, drink at least a glass of water before taking in anything.
  • Quit smoking. Cigarrettes contain properties that can damage your lungs. Millions of people were killed from Lung Cancer caused by smoking cigarrettes and others died by just inhaling the smoke from smokers. Exposure to asbestos products is another way of getting a lung cancer disease. Cancer cells produced from inhaling asbestos fibers attack the lining of the lungs. This cancer type is called Pleural Mesothelioma. Asbestos Fibers also cause cancer of the lymph nodes and spleen, often called“lymphoma”, as well as Non–Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Cancer of the digestive tract, Colon cancer, Cancer of the throat or larynx and Kidney cancer.
  • Visit your doctor regularly as required.
  • Avoid Stress. While the truth about "Stress Can Cause Cancer" is still at large, it is wiser for us to just avoid Stress at all. Be stressed out for about 5 minutes and immediately divert your attention. If there's a will, there's a way to avoid stress.
  • Avoid eating Fatty Foods and Drinking Excessive Amount of Alcohol. Fatty Foods may increase the risk of breast and colon cancer. Drinking Excessive Alcohol increases the risk of Breast Cancer, Mouth, Pharynx, and Esophagus cancer.
